When a
fault or error is detected, the Sentry-go Quick Monitor can respond
in a number of ways, either to take automatic action itself or
inform you of the problem. Alerts can also be directed to individual
administrators or teams using one or more different methods.
You can configure the monitor to
alert only if an error occurs over a given period of time - repeatedly high CPU usage.
And once an error is detected, Sentry-go can also ignore the check
for a given time, thus allowing you to investigate and/or resolve the
problem.
The following options are available
...
-
Take
automatic action in response to a problem.
Restart a service, reboot the server, run a command,
application or script.
-
Send
an alert.
Notify one or more Administrators, the helpdesk or support
team using a variety of methods including network message,
e-mail or SMS gateway. Quick Monitors can also send alerts to
the Quick Monitor Console if it is running on one or more
desktops within your environment.
-
Log
the information.
In addition to notifying, you can also log faults to a
database, file or SysLog server.
-
Daily Summary.
The daily summary report can be sent to any defined
Administrator by e-mail. It summarises the previous day's
activities, and includes the total alerts triggered split into
categories. It is an ideal way to see what's happening on the
server overall as well as giving peace of mind when no alerts
are being triggered, to confirm all is
well.
