With the Sentry-go Quick IIS Web Server Monitor, you can quickly and easily
check to ensure that key web pages are not only available to users of
your web site, but also that the content of the displayed page is as
expected.
Page Delivery
By defining the pages you wish to check - typically this would include the main home page, the Quick Monitor will periodically
connect to the server to ensure they are available - just like a typical
desktop browser would. Any connection, timeout or potentially content
errors (see below) can immediately be reported to the webmaster or support
team.
Content
In addition to the above checks, you can also check the content of the
returned page by defining a text string that should (or shouldn't) appear on this page. If it doesn't, then it is assumed to be the wrong
page and once again, the webmaster or support team are immediately
informed.
Why Monitor Content
Delivery ?
The ultimate aim of any web site if
to provide content - either internally to your own users, externally to
partners or customers, or both. Ensuring your site is available,
especially to existing and potential customers is vital. Statistics show
that people who have problems with a site rarely return, especially if
they can find a working solution with your competitors.
With the Sentry-go Quick IIS Web Monitor, content delivery can be verified
periodically to ensure (i) it is available, (ii) it is displayed within a
reasonable time and (iii) the page returned contains the expected text. If
it doesn't, the webmaster or System Administrator(s) can be alerted to
problems the moment they're spotted.
