As anyone who's bought
software before will know, checking the features is easy -
installing it may, or may not be! For this reason alone, Sentry-go
monitors all come with our own own custom Setup Wizard, dedicated
to and built specifically for
Sentry-go monitoring solutions.
Running Setup
Each Sentry-go solution comes downloadable as
a ZIP file from our web site. Once downloaded, expand the ZIP files
into a temporary directory. To install the monitor, simply run the
Wizard - SETUP.EXE by double-clicking it from within Windows
Explorer. A
simple, interface will guide you through the
entire installation, gathering the required information, installing the
files and configuration your PC or server within minutes.
If you're upgrading from an existing version,
simply run the Setup Wizard as described above. However, it will automatically detect the
existing installation & offer you the option of saving &
migrating your
existing settings.
Configuring
Once run, the Setup Wizard will prompt you to
run the monitor's Configuration Utility or the Quick Monitor
Console. Both options allow you review & configure the Quick
Monitor using an easy to use interface. Initially you will be shown
the settings that were pre-configured by the Wizard but you can edit or
add to them as required.
You can also configure the alerts
and any other alerting mechanisms you wish to use along with web server access
& security.
With the Quick Monitor Console, you can
also easily copy settings from one monitor to another - e.g. to
synchronise alert or monitoring settings from an existing monitor to
the newly installed monitor.
Start Monitoring
It sounds simple and it is! You're
now up and monitoring!
