Sentry-go also offers a number of smaller utility products, designed to simplify common support tasks. They can be used independently of other Sentry-go monitoring solutions and run either on an ad-hoc basis or scheduled to run periodically. 

Windows Utilities

These utilities provide an easy way to accomplish common tasks. Results can automatically be saved to a CSV file for further processing in say Microsoft Excel or 3rd party database or reporting solution and/or displayed in a predefined web report. The Exchange Mailbox Summariser Wizard also allows you to both schedule reporting as well as alert you by e-mail when mailboxes are found to be outside permitted limits.

• Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Summary Wizard
   
  This Wizard provides all the features of the popular Mailbox summariser command-line tool but within an easy-to-use front end. Additionally, it also allows you to schedule reporting, limit reporting to mailboxes that exceed permitted thresholds & send the report to one or more users automatically by e-mail.
   
  Use this Wizard to monitor the size of your Exchange mailboxes and detect queues that are no longer used or exceed normal limits etc.
  

• Windows Event Log Summary Wizard
   
  A Wizard that allows you to connect to one or more PCs or servers, scan one or more Event Logs and extract information from them. Details can be restricted based on keywords, event sources, event IDs, event types, PC and Event log type. 
  
  An easy way to search for errors & messages from across your environment without needing to manually connect to different PCs or servers, this is an ideal tool for fault diagnosis & to see how often a particular event may be occurring.
   

• File Access Audit Wizard
   
  This wizard allows you to track file usage across one or more PCs or servers using the Windows auditing. Simply audit the files you wish to track and  use this Wizard to scan for, retrieve & format the event log records created.
   
  An ideal, easy to use and low cost way of seeing who accesses you key files, and what they may be doing to them!
    

• Windows Web Log Summary Wizard
   
  The Web Log Summary Wizard allows you to scan a formatted text file (such as an IIS Log File) and extract information from it. Details can be restricted based on request type (GET and./or HEAD), keywords and optionally columns within the file.
   
  This tool provides an easy way to scan and summarise information that may otherwise get lost in large and often less helpful log files - e.g. to determine your most popular pages accessed, detect missing files & broken links etc.
   

• Connection Test Utility
   
  The Sentry-go Connection Test Utility is a system tool designed to help verify & diagnose TCP/IP network connections from one PC to another.  
   
  With it you can ...
   

  • Check that a PC or server's IP-address can be retrieved based on it's name - e.g. to check DNS entries etc.

  • Check that you can connect to a remote PC or server from the local machine on a given port.

  • Retrieve the opening string from a server following connection

  • Interact directly with the remote server/service, displaying its responses as required.

  • Show any WINSOCK error codes that are returned.

  • Produce a log file of the results for further analysis.

  An ideal way to diagnose connection errors and view, at the system level, TCP/IP data communications between the client & server.

Command-line Utilities

The following utilities are be run from the command line - either interactively by responding to prompts or automatically via an answer file - a file which defines the answers you wish to provide. Typically, results can be sent to the screen, written to a CSV (text) file and formatted into an HTML report. By generating a CSV file, you can  import the data produced into other packages such as Microsoft Excel, databases or 3rd party reporting packages. The in-built web report allows the information to be displayed directly within your web browser without the need for any additional web server software. 

• Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Summariser
   
  Summarises the usage of mailboxes on your Exchange server. Information includes mailboxes name, last accessed by (user), last accessed on (time), total mailbox size (no. messages & space), Inbox size (no. messages & space) etc.
    

• Microsoft Exchange E-mail Summariser
   
  Easily analyse the log files produced by your Exchange server to summarise the e-mail traffic processed. With this utility, you can easily build a complete picture of the e-mail flow through your server, either across all users or for a specific e-mail address. Summary information includes the no. & total size of messages sent and received per mailbox. When scanning for a specific address, the utility displays all e-mails sent and received by the user, including timestamp and size. 
   
  An easy way of keeping a check on e-mail usage within your organisation.
