SQL Server monitoring is quick & easy using the Sentry-go Quick SQL Server
Monitor. With it you can easily monitor SQL Servers, as well as your database
environment. With it you can check the local Windows Server, SQL Server,
databases, ODBC connectivity, queries & locking as well as entries written to
the SQL Server log file & local Event Logs.

|
Monitoring Features |
-
Monitor key services
SQL Server monitoring allows you to monitor key Windows, SQL & database-related
services such as MS-DTC, running on the local server out of the box. In
addition, custom services can also be added, monitored & automatically
restarted.
-
Ensure database connectivity & query results
The database connection monitor option allows you to periodically ensure a
connection to your key databases can be made. Optionally, you can also run
queries against the connection and verify the results, ideal when you wish to
check key database systems are functioning correctly.
-
Monitor Blocked Locking
As part of monitoring SQL Servers, this option allows you to monitor the locks
being used by SQL Server - in particular, queries that are being blocked for a
given period of time and the queries blocking them. Details can be alerted,
logged to a file or both. Verify SQL, database & local server performance
-
SQL Server Performance Monitoring allows you to ensure that key performance
parameters are within expected limits - e.g. no. open connections, active
transactions, no. table lock escalations etc. Custom performance counters can
also be added and monitored.
-
Monitor errors written to the Windows Event Log
Sentry-go allows you to monitor messages written to the Windows Event Logs based
on error type, event ID, source or keywords & phrases within the text.
-
Monitor messages written to the SQL Server Log File
By monitoring the SQL Server log file, you can detect lower level database
failures and/or internal errors etc. Other custom log files can also be
monitored.
-
Monitor messages written to custom log files
In addition to Event Logs, you can also monitor the entries written to
text-based log files such as those used for custom applications, based on
keywords or phrases within the text.
-
Ensure sufficient disk space is available
To run efficiently, your Windows server & SQL Server needs adequate free disk
space. Sentry-go can check this for you, clearing down temporary files
automatically if free space becomes limited.
